Dr Majid Oryadi, Doctor of Speech Therapy

I have served as the Head of the R&D Department at Soroush Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Hearing Disorders in Shiraz, Iran, since 2011. From 2014 to 2020, I was the Head of the Speech Therapy Department at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, where I also held the position of Associate Professor from 2013 to 2023. Additionally, I spent six months as an Academic Visitor in the Discipline of Speech Science at the School of Psychology, University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2013. During this period, I also completed the Foundations and Advancing Skills in Auditory-Verbal Practice through eLearning with Hear and Say WorldWide in Australia. After obtaining my MSc, I worked as a Lecturer in the Speech Therapy Department at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Semnan University of Medical Sciences, Semnan, Iran (2002-2006). My research interests span a variety of topics, including communication and language disorders in children, early detection and intervention, audiovisual speech perception in children, speech-in-noise perception in children with hearing disorders, auditory processing disorder, developmental language disorder, working memory and linguistic performance, the development of audiovisual speech perception assessment tools, the creation of computer games for auditory skill training, and the development of virtual reality systems to enhance verbal and nonverbal communication skills in children.
